Preparation
Each film coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg equivalent to elemental Calcium 600 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU as Cholecalciferol USP.

Indications
Maxical-DX is indicated for the correction of Calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiency in the elderly and as an adjunct to specific treatment for osteoporosis in patients where combined vitamin D3 and calcium deficiencies have been diagnosed or at a high risk of such deficiencies.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and elderly: One tablet twice a day preferably one tablet each morning and one at evening with a full glass of water.
Dosage in pregnant women: One tablet a day.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to calcium and Cholecalciferol
- Kidney stones (nephrolithiasis, nephrocalcinosis)
- Severe renal impairment or renal failure
- Hypercalciuria and hypercalcemia
- Hypervitaminosis
Overdosage
The serious consequence of overdose is hypercalcaemia. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, anorexia, abdominal cramps, headache, constipation and irritability. Treatment includes cessation of therapy and adequate rehydration.
